In March-April 2024 Mikhail travelled to the UK and Germany. He visited Solar Tsunamis team member, the British Geological Survey (BGS), the Geomagnetic Observatory in Niemegk (NGK) and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, and delivered talks about his work on the Solar Tsunamis project at each place. Last but not least, he met up with some old friends.
On his last night while visiting BGS in the UK, he was able to see the Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights.
Unfortunately, the all sky camera recently installed in NGK failed to take pictures for that event as it was oversaturated by the full moon. However, despite this hiccup, Mikhail’s visit to this almost 100 year old observatory was impressive and educational.
