Notes:

The Awarua magnetometer is kindly hosted by Space Operations New Zealand at their satellite ground station at Awarua, just outside of Invercargill. The Awarua site had to be moved in 2024, due to nearby interference from a new electric fence and planned construction. The new site, located at the edge of the Awarua wetlands, now uses solar panels. The data quality from Awarua is generally good, particularly after the move. Being the closest to the Auroral Zones, the Awarua magnetometer observes the largest magnetic field variations across all mainland New Zealand.
